WHAT WE CAN HELP WITH
Whatever brought you here, start with a conversation.
Desert Oasis Recovery provides residential treatment for adults dealing with substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions, in Ridgecrest and across the surrounding Kern, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino County communities. The pages below cover what we treat and what treatment actually involves, written plainly rather than in the language of brochures.
BEFORE YOU PICK ONE
Most people fit more than one of these
These pages are separated for clarity, not because people arrive in tidy categories. Most do not. If two or three of them describe your situation, that is ordinary rather than complicated, and it does not change whether we can help. Read whichever feels closest and call about the rest.
One of two substances where stopping abruptly can be medically dangerous. Residential care provides the supervision and the distance from triggers that outpatient often cannot.
Prescription or otherwise. We accept people already stabilized on buprenorphine, methadone, or naltrexone, and can coordinate prescribing as part of your plan.
Different from other opioids in how fast dependence forms and how withdrawal unfolds. Including for people who never intended to use an opioid at all.
Recovery here is slow at the start, and knowing that in advance changes who gets through it. Structure matters more than motivation in the early weeks.
Often hidden behind a functioning life for years. Includes what the combination with alcohol does, and why the cardiac risk is worth taking seriously.
Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Valium. Most people became dependent on a prescription taken as directed. Do not stop these abruptly on your own.
The most common situation there is. One assessment and one plan covering everything, rather than a primary substance with the rest treated as background detail.
Depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD. Treated alongside substance use by one team rather than sent elsewhere. Being on psychiatric medication does not disqualify you.
IF NONE OF THESE QUITE FIT
You do not need the right label to call
Plenty of people are not sure what to call their situation, or whether it counts as bad enough. Some are calling about someone else. Some just want to know what treatment would even look like before deciding anything. All of that is a reasonable reason to get in touch, and none of it commits you to anything. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and point you somewhere that is.
