Who We Serve
Desert Oasis Recovery is a residential substance use disorder treatment program in Ridgecrest, California, serving adult men and women from Kern, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and surrounding counties. We’re licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services and accredited by The Joint Commission.
We accept clients with commercial insurance (including PPO, EPO, and employer-sponsored plans), Medi-Cal, and private pay. If you’re not sure what you have or what it covers, we’ll help you figure it out on a short phone call.
What We Don't Provide On-Site
We want you to have the right information up front:
- We don’t offer medical detox or withdrawal management. If you’re still actively using or in withdrawal, we’ll help connect you with a trusted detox provider first. Once you’re medically cleared, you can begin your stay with us.
- We can’t accommodate pets due to licensing and health regulations. Service animals as defined under the ADA are welcome — we’ll talk through any accommodations during intake.
What Happens When You Call
Most people put off calling because they don’t know what the call will be like. Here’s what to expect.
1. You reach a real person. A team member answers, or calls you back the same business day if you leave a message. The first conversation takes about 15–20 minutes.
2. We listen. We ask about what’s going on, what you’ve tried, your insurance or payment situation, and any medical needs. There’s no script and no sales pitch.
3. We verify coverage. If you have insurance — commercial or Medi-Cal — we’ll verify your benefits and walk you through what’s covered and what isn’t. If you’re paying privately, we’ll be transparent about cost before you commit to anything.
4. We make a plan together. If we’re the right fit, we schedule your arrival and send you a packing list. If we’re not, we help connect you to somewhere that is.
Insurance and Payment
We work with most major commercial insurance plans, including PPO, EPO, and employer-sponsored coverage. We also accept Medi-Cal, including through the DMC-ODS / CalAIM system. For clients paying privately, options include:
- Out-of-pocket payment
- Health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA)
- Assistance from a family member or support person
